GEERS covers capped unpaid wages, annual and long service leave, payment in lieu of notice and redundancy pay.

Additional information, including fact sheet and claim forms can be obtained from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

Corporate Insolvency Information Sheets

The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (“ASIC”) has issued Insolvency Information Sheets for directors, employees, creditors and shareholders of companies under insolvency administration. These Information Sheets are also endorsed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association (“IPA”) and gives you a basic understanding of the three (3) most common company insolvency administration procedures:
Voluntary Administration;
Liquidation; and
Receivership.
There's also a Glossary of commonly used insolvency terms.
Copies of the Information Sheets and Glossary can be obtained from ASIC.

Personal Insolvency Information

The Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia (“ITSA”) has numerous publications and documents available online concerning personal insolvency and the operation of the Bankruptcy Act, including pamphlets, fact sheets, current statutory amounts and commonly used forms.

Copies of these publications and documents can be obtained from ITSA.
