an individual in bankruptcy that is being handled by
O’Brien Palmer, then if you wish to formally prove
your debt, you may download and complete the relevant
proof of debt form and return it, with all relevant
supporting documentation, to O’Brien Palmer.

General Employee Entitlements and Redundancy Scheme (“GEERS”)
GEERS is a payment scheme established to assist employees who have lost their employment due to the liquidation
or bankruptcy of their employer and who are owed certain employee entitlements. GEERS covers capped unpaid
wages, annual and long service leave, payment in lieu of notice and redundancy pay.

Corporate Insolvency Information Sheets
The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (“ASIC”) has issued Insolvency Information Sheets for
directors, employees, creditors and shareholders of companies under insolvency administration. These Information Sheets are
also endorsed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association (“IPA”) and gives
you a basic understanding of the three (3) most common company insolvency administration procedures: |

Receivership. |

Personal Insolvency Information
The Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia (“ITSA”) has numerous publications and documents available
online concerning personal insolvency and the operation of the Bankruptcy Act, including pamphlets, fact sheets, current
statutory amounts and commonly used forms.
Copies of these publications and documents can be obtained from ITSA.
Codes of Conduct and Standards of Best Practice
The IPA is committed to the promotion and maintenance of the highest standards of professional competence and conduct of
its members.
O’Brien Palmer has an uncompromising attitude to independence and other ethical standards. At O'Brien Palmer we have adopted the Code of Professional Practice for Insolvency Practitioners issued by the IPA in December 2007.
